Charles Julian
CWO4 Gunner Charles J. Julian, USMC (Ret.) passed away on Friday, April 28, 2023, at the age of 84.
Chuck began a long 28-year career serving our country in the Marines, which included two tours of duty in the Vietnam War. Over his career, he was decorated and awarded with 2 Bronze Stars with a Combat "V", Presidential Unit Citation, Vietnam Service Medal, Combat Action Ribbon, the Rifle Distinguished Badge, amongst many other accolades.
When his retirement came in 1986, he worked for the NRA, and then started his own business as a firearms instructor. He taught many law enforcement agencies across the country, before contracting with the FBI Academy.
Chuck enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, playing and watching golf, reading, and supporting his grandchildren at their many events.
He leaves to honor his memory his beloved wife of 63 years, Carolyn A. Julian; daughters, Janet Hunt (John) and Dianne King (Alan); son, Michael "Mike" Julian (Julie); 10 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; five sisters, Sarah, Nita, Delilah, Helen, and Becky; one brother, Jimmy; many nieces and nephews, and many close friends around the world.
A Visitation will be held Tuesday, May 9, 2023, at Mullins and Thompson Funeral Service, Stafford Chapel, 186 Shelton Shop Rd.,from 6 until 8 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at his home church, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 161 Eustace Rd., Stafford, VA 22554, on May 10, 2023, beginning at 10 a.m. He will be laid to rest with military honors at Quantico National Cemetery immediately following the service.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the National Museum of the Marines Corps, ATT: Curational Section, 1775 Semper Fidelis Way, Triangle, VA 22172.
